Summary on Grant Application Form |
Our proposed research project consists of the design and operation of a novel rotary fluidised bed incinerator specifically for sewage sludge. The programme addresses the basic deficiencies of present incinerator designs with an original approach. The high combustion intensity and high efficiency of the proposed incinerator design mean that the unit will be smaller for the same duty compared to the conventional types. The main advantages of the proposed units are: high combustion efficiency, compact size, good turn-down range, good dynamic response due to its small time constant, lower toxic emissions and high combustion intensity.
