|
The aim of this project is to develop our understanding of and confidence in metrics for object-orientation analysis, design and programming.We will perform empirical evaluations in order to investigate the ability of both existing and new sets of metrics to estimate quality-type attributes of software products early in the development proccess. The evaluations will take the form of correlation analysis, using a muber of process metrics which are closely assiciateed with quality. Data will be collected form projects in two different application domains for this evaluation.In addition, this project will construct an intelligent toolkit which will help to automate the collection and storage of raw data generated during development and mainteance, and the calculation of the object-orientated analysis and design metrics (both those investigated from the literature and those proposed during this research).
