We propose to perform ab initio spin-polarized and relativisitic band theoretical calculations of multilayers and thin films together with the calculation of the circular magnetic x-ray dichroism spectrum for systems under study at the synchron radiation source in Daresbury by the UK's multilayer and thin film community.
