Summary on Grant Application Form |
The present applications aims to build on recent advances in the fields of multiply charged ion-surface interactions and analytical mass spectrometry to demonstrate the first practical application of multiply charged ions for the desorption of macromolecules. In addition to yielding significant insight into the basic physics of the desorption mechanism, such a demonstration could lead to a new technique for analytical mass spectrometry.
