Summary on Grant Application Form |
Statistical shape models have, in the past, been primarily used as prior knowledge in image segmentation applications. In this proposal we intend to investigate their use in two novel areas, in medical image interpretation. Firstly as a means of extrapolation to enable global shape measurements to be made from poorly sampled data, and secondly, as a means of categorising shapes into sub-classes as a means of disease classification.
