Summary on Grant Application Form |
A fundamental study of the factors influencing the permeability of a range of thermoplastics is proposed. Positron annihilation spectroscopy studies allows characterisation of the free volume, dielectric relaxation the interaction between diffusant and polymer matrix allowing the effects of thermal treatment to be studied. The aim of the study is to establish the fundamental inter-relationship between structure and permeability in thermoplastics.
