Summary on Grant Application Form
This proposal is a collaboration between Keele University, UMIST, University of Nottingham and Imperial Colege to study nickel cermet anodes in solid oxide fuel cells running on natural gas. The research involves the study of anodes by catalytic methods including temperature programmed reduction, thermal desorption spectroscopy, temperature programmed oxidation, etc. Then the anodes will be used in a tubular electrochemical reactor at Keele to observe the current/voltage/reaction product performance over a range of fuel cell operating conditions. The behaviour of this reactor will then be modelled mathematically using numerical methods.
