Summary on Grant Application Form
This project would consist of four main phases. The first phase would aim to search the human factors literature on methods and techniques for product design. This process would draw up a large pool of potentially useful methods. The second stage would review these techniques through case studies, applying each of the techniques in turn to determine their relative merits and potential pitfalls. Validation studies of methods would be proven through simulator studies. The final phase would devise a methodology for applying the different methods in a product design approach.
