Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of the proposed research is the investigation and development of a class of hierarchical graph based segmentation algorithms for use on 3D images obtained from application within the oil exploration business. Quantitative evaluation of the algorithms by a set of specified measures including detailed comparison with band segmented images and with segmentations using existing techniques will be carried out.Integration of the algorithms into application specific systems which are being developed by the consortium end user and system integrator will be performed in order to assess the suitability of unsupervised segmentation within the overall 3D analysis system.
