Summary on Grant Application Form |
Dr. Robert Hiromoto is a computational scientist formerly from the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico. He is currently a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he is the Program Director. His research interests are in the area of the parallel algorithms and the application of functional programming to numerical supercomputer problems. He has published in numerous journals and is currently the regional editor for the international journal Parallel Computing responsible for North, Central and the South American regions. We request support to allow Bob to spend two and a half months in the Functional Programming research group at the Department of Computing Science in the University of Glasgow, to continue his previous summer's work in developing and assessing the performance of sequential and parallel numerical algorithms for the functional language Haskell.
