Summary on Grant Application Form |
This COST programme aims to address one of the major problems in developing TiAl-based alloys - rapid grain growth during processing. If this can be controlled the development of commercially useful alloys will be made more practicable. A combination of alloy development, phase diagram modelling and thermomechanical processing will be coupled with microstructure/property assessment in order to provide the understanding and the application to demonstrator components.
