Summary on Grant Application Form |
The main objectives of the proposed research are to:1. Develop the chemistry of prop-2-ynyl and 1-aza-prop-2-ynyl ligand with an emphasis on their ability to mask unsaturation at the metal centre;2. Establish whether Z-h2-alkynes can be isolated and their reactivity explored;3. Compare the reactivity of cis - and twisted 1,3-diene, ligands; and importantly,4. To build on our preliminary experiments which suggest that Stille Chemistry can be used to construct networks of carbon atoms.
