1. To determine the structures of the ordered phases, formed at high densities, in a binary mixture of hard core particles of arbitrary size ratio.2. To identify the optimum values of size ratio and composition which leads to the rapid formation of such organised colloidal structures.3. To explore the possibility that these structures may provide a method of preparing materials with novel photonic properties.
