Summary on Grant Application Form |
To bring new work on the incoherent microscope to the level of fruition we have already achieved in the coherent microscope case. The goal is to construct a high numerical aperture super resolving fluorescent microscope with a Rayleigh resolution similar to that we have achieved for a coherent microscope. Such an instrument would have major benefits in biological microscopy. As well as pursuing the goal of super resolution in fluorescence microscopy, we will also attempt to construct an instrument with enhanced sectioning properties.
