Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of the research is to model polysilicon thin film transistors suitable for active elements in flat panel displays. Two dimensional computer simulation will be used to determine the optimum method of modelling the disordered nature of the polysilicon layers. The simulations will be validated by comparison with measurements on devices fabricated both at Northern Ireland semiconductor Research Centre and also at Philips Research Laboratories. The feasibility of incorporating optimised algorithms within a device simulation framework will be investigated.
