Summary on Grant Application Form |
High quality TiAl based alloy will be manufactured by vacuum plasma and gas atomised spray forming followed by hot isostatic pressing under a wide range of conditions and the microstructures will be correlated with measured heat and mass flows during spray forming. The mechanism of micro- structural evolution will be investigated and quantitative models of microstructural prediction developed. The room and elevated temperature ductilities will be measured as a function of microstructure in the consolidated TiAl alloys.
