Summary on Grant Application Form
The study at UMIST will concentrate on improving and extending the Image Processing Procedures applied to Video and Photographic Images of Filtration Froths with a view to improving the operation of a continuously operating Pilot-Scale Filtration Plant at Nottingham University. The bulk of the images studied will originate at Nottingham. In addition, control procedures using Neural Networks based on the visual characterisation and a knowledge of how flotation performance is related to froth morphology will be developed at UMIST.
