Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of this research project is to devise more diversified approaches to the construction of 6- and 8-membered cyclic oligosaccharides as a result of cyclo-oligomerisations of disaccharide precursors. Employing both high dilution and templated-directed methods, new cyclodextrin derivatives will be prepared. These 'artificial' cyclodextrins and their derivatives may possess unusual complexation properties. These will be investigated as soon as their syntheses have been completed successfully.
