|
We shall investigate and develop techniques using electron interference phenomena in STM imaging of thin films with a view to characterising subsurface structures. Films of different thicknesses and crystal orientations will be used to distinguish 'bulk' and surface states. Results will be correlated with structural information obtained by electron microscopy.
