Summary on Grant Application Form |
We request support to provide a magnetisation measurement facility in fields to 5 Tesla and at temperatures down to 4.2 K for the molecular magnetism community. This would be based on an upgrade to our Oxford Instruments Faraday Balance system. Measurements would be undertaken both under postal and visit arrangements under the management and supervision of a senior experimental officer, whose role would be to maintain the instrument as well as undertake measurements. The SEO will take an active part in existing programmes to study the magnetic properties of dithiadiazolyl radicals, BDT-TTF based charge transfer salts and polymeric polaronic magnets. A new programme of magnetic measurements, in collaboration with Dr. M.R Bryce, to study fullerene charge-transfer complexes is proposed.
