Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed research involves finding and classifying new two-dimensional integrable models and field theories and describing their structure. In particular, it is hoped to classify (by exhaustive search) all W-algebras with up to 8 generators and spins upto 12, and to make progress towards a general theoretical classification of W-algebras and a general description of their representations, and hence a general classification of conformal field theories. We propose also to investigate the structure of these, and related theories by numerical studies, with the ultimate aim of describing the space of all two-dimensional field theories. We plan in particular to investigate, by a combination of algebraic and numerical methods, the structure of two-dimensional theories with factorized S-matrices.
