Summary on Grant Application Form |
To develop algorithms for the automatic transformation of a detailed geometric model into an abstracted model suitable for finite element analysis. In dimensional reduction, a solid geometric model is replaced by an equivalent surface or line model for analysis. fore detail suppression, small features in the geometric model are identified and removed to produce an analysis model of reduced complexity. In either case, the simplified model should capture the stress field in all except localised areas of the geometric model.
