Summary on Grant Application Form
The aim of the project is to develop a prototype angular motion fixator for improved fracture healing suitable for use in initial clinical trials prior to marketing. The macro-motion proposed is unique in so much that a 'rocking' motion will be produced as distinct from linear motion, this is novel. The investigation will include a series of trials, controlled experimentation approved by the ethical committee, to determine the optimum design characteristics for the CAMFF. Furthermore the results will be applicable to the design of internal fixation systems.
