The project has established a context for the development and application of different costing models and an investigation into their relevance to advanced technology environments and work organised using new management methods. The key objectives to be achieved are: identification of product costing systems in current use by UK industry; the evaluation and application of various product costing techniques at a number of user sites; identification of key areas where product costing systems may enhance/hinder business performance; and the development of a workbook/selection tool for the choice of product costing system.
