Summary on Grant Application Form
This project will use time domain analysis to determine the link between the phase currents in a switched reluctance motor and the resulting production of acoustic noise and vibration. Testing of four different switched reluctance drives of differing mechanical construction and electomagnetic finite element analysis. A set of design rules will be developed for low noise switched reluctance drives and these will be verified by construction and testing of an experimental prototype.
