Summary on Grant Application Form |
There are two major research objectives:(i) To identify and optimise a manufacturing process that will consistently produce triple oxide cathodes with superior performance characteristics, e.g., with respect to their influence on the noise content of the UV radiation output of deuterium lamps used widely in analytical instrumentation;(ii) To develop a computer based model of cathode operation which incorporates all the relevant features of the design and operation of both the cathode itself and the device in which it operates.
