Summary on Grant Application Form
The objectives of this project are to develop a generic model based intelligent training system for industrial applications and to validate it with industrial demonstrators. Two industrial demonstrators from different application areas will be identified and used to verify the capabilities of the generic model based training system. Progress: A prototype MOBIT system has been developed which demonstrates many of the advanced features that a model based intelligent training system requires. The goal of this prototype is to train a trainee to control the change of load for a simulation of a boiler plant that has been developed during the MOBIT project. The system controls the boiler plant itself to allow demonstration to the trainee and also so the trainees performance in the control task can be adequately monitored and diagnosed. The industrial demonstrators that the MOBIT approach is to be applied to have been identified and their specifications have been developed. After a period of refinement of the prototype the experiments using the industrial demonstrators will be started.
