We will prepare a range of polymers having an inorganic backbone consisting exclusively of tin. These will have conjugation along the backbone and so will have interesting photo- and elecro-activity. A number of synthetic methods will be explored so as to give a wide range of organic substituents in order that we can establish structure-property relations in this potentially exciting new class of polymers.
