Investigations of transport properties of a variety of low-dimensional GaAs transistor structures near the metal-insulator transition, comprising: 1) mesoscopic effects in the conductance and noise of sub-micron structures at varying electron concentration, magnetic and electric fields; 2) hopping conduction and noise in multilayer GaAs transistor structures; 3) interference and electron- electron interaction effects in the strongly localised regime.
