Summary on Grant Application Form |
To discover how invariant 2-tori of discrete-time dynamical systems break up, one has to explore a 4 or 5-dimensional parameter x phase space. Methods of visualisation will be developed on an IRIS workstation to help with this. Renormalisation group ideas will be applied in an attempt to provide a framework in which to describe and understand the breakup process.
