Summary on Grant Application Form |
As a part of collaborative research aimed at the development of improved structural steel sections, the research proposed here seeks to establish the theory necessary for the prediction of microstructure and mechanical properties during the thermomechanical processing of complex alloys and sections. Such computer-aided design techniques will give British Steel a competitive edge over other manufacturers in the exploitation of steels in Civil Engineering applications - a large market indeed.
