Summary on Grant Application Form
The project Electrical network representations of probabilistic models seeks to strengthen the links between transmission line matrix (TLM) and random walk models in homogenous and inhomogenous systems. It will extend the achievements of SERC Grant GR/G.02710 with particular emphasis on minimising the computational effort (in solving large problems) by means of closed discrete solutions in two and three dimensions. It seeks to improve the transition between problem and probabilistic model by using electrical transmission line network analogues. The utilisation of closed algebraic solutions will lead to a new approach to the inverse modelling of thermal and diffusive problems which are important in industry.
