Summary on Grant Application Form |
The near infra red properties of polymer films containing semiconductor micro-crystals can be tuned by controlling the particle size. The nonlinear optical properties and absorption coefficient of such films will be studied in the near resonance region to establish an optimum point of de-tuning. The films have large (3) nonlinearity and a low absorption coefficient even on resonance and we expect to enhance the ratio (3)/ by spectral de-tuning.
