Summary on Grant Application Form |
Feasibility study results show taht primary distortion levels of up to 94% can be achieved if a specimen is flexurally vibrated during the welding process. It is proposed the programme should corroborate these results and also look at the effect of residual stress levels in the weld area. Various modes fo vibration require to be looked at in addition to that of Rigid Body Motion. The programme requires the setting up of a well equipped laboratory which meets with HSE requirements.
