Summary on Grant Application Form
A collaboration is proposed with: (1) Centre for High Temperature Superconductivity, Imperial College of Science and Technology; (2) National Physical Laboratory, Teddington. The subjects proposed for investigation are: (1) Microwave properties of high quality thin films of the superconducting cuprates and the relation of these properties to traditional film characteristics such as critical current density, breadth of the resistive transition, etc. (2) The microwave properties of ceramic superconducting cuprate wires and particularly the origin of the degradation of ceramic properties in high magnetic fields or at high rf current densities. (3) Development of synthetic Josephson junctions utilising high Tc superconducting films.
