Summary on Grant Application Form |
This research proposal has grown out of a collaboration between the universities of Hull and North Wales that was formed via a LINK programme on pyroelectric materials. Hull was part of this programme but North Wales was not. Materials prepared at Hull were shown to have interesting pyroelectric properties by the Bangor Group. These developments came late in the LINK programme, therefore we have decided to seek further support for fundamental studies through SERC. The programme is for Hull to prepare novel ferroelectric liquid crystal polymers and for Bangor to evaluate their pyro- and piezo-electric properties.
