Summary on Grant Application Form |
Using XPS and FTIR spectroscopy to elucidate the surface chemistry which enables the recently discovered Functional Active Processing Aids (FAPA) to control, with precision, the rheological properties of unvulcanised rubber and to increase the strength of its vulcanisates. Quantify the surface activity of functionally active carbon blacks as reinforcing agents for rubber and the enhancement of this reinforcement by FAPA's.
