Summary on Grant Application Form |
To understand the static and dynamic mechanisms of industrial sewing machines in relation to fabric properties during sewing. To improve the efficiency and flexibility of sewing machines by establishing instrumentation so that sewing machines can be monitored and controlled during sewing. To automate the settings of industrial sewing machines statically and dynamically on-line during garment manufacture. Introduce the concept of Intelligent Sewing Machines to industry, reduce operator training, and ensure right first time in manufacture of difficult to sew fabrics.
