To develop efficient parallel solution procedures for the transient dynamic analysis of large deformation problems involving frictional contact behaviour for which efficient contact search algorithms will be developed. The additional capabilities necessary to model adhesive joint failure will also be modelled and the solution approach will be appraised by the simulation of industrial problems for which experimental data will be available.
