To develop accurate methods for determining the deformation and stress distributions, throughout the thickness, of cylinders and cylindrical panels, comprising either of homogeneous or of laminated composite materials, for static and dynamic problems. To extend these methods to include geometrically nonlinear effects. To evaluate accuracy of existing approximate methods of stress analysis.
