Research leading to the demonstration of a catalytically supported combustion system for industrial gas turbines burning line natural gas. This requires (i) catalyst system development, (ii) establishment and verification of mathematical models of the reactor and its approach and exit flows, (iii) characterisation of the principal kinetic and mass transfer processes and (iv) combination of the individual parts of the study to demonstrate at typical scales and conditions a generic device representative of the industrial gas turbine combustor.
