Summary on Grant Application Form |
The object of the work is to design and build a twin-roll caster to produce thin sheet directly from the melt. Another aspect fo the work is to increase productivity over conventional twin-roll casting practice and to improve sheet quality. Eventually alloys will be modified or redesigned to take advantage of the rapid solidification process which occurs when thin sheet is produced.
