Summary on Grant Application Form
I propose to devote my fellowship to the rigorous study of nonlinear partial differential equations (PDE) arising in geometric problems and physical models, and those whose solutions exhibit interesting phenomena or have practical applications. Most of these equations will have a geometric flavour, and the methods and the intuition will be both analytic and geometric. Many will arise from the Calculus of Variations as elliptic Euler-Lagrange equations or parabolic gradient flow equations.I am particularly interested in understanding certain phenomena which are typical to many different equations, including concentration or 'bubbling' singularities, and the development of global effects from local equations.
