Summary on Grant Application Form
The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (EPS) carries out world-leading research across two research institutes: AIPT (Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies) and EBRI (Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute) and several other research groups/centres. The success and impact of these institutes is critically dependent on their access to state-of-the art equipment to deliver internationally competitive research. The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Aston University has carried out an open, inclusive consultation with all researchers in the College to identify equipment needs that will support existing and future research activities at the College. The College's Research Strategy Group prioritized these needs in an open meeting based on the criteria above. As a result a number of items were prioritized which would make existing research more efficient, would allow us to develop in line with our strategic aims and objectives and would benefit early career researchers and research students in terms of their training and practical experience. The outcome of this process is presented herein as a request for equipment items within the proscribed budget and categorization.
