Summary on Grant Application Form
Room Weaver is an intuitive software based integrated development environment for the design, modelling and rendering of virtual acoustic spaces, based on the multidimensional Digital Waveguide Mesh. This project is concerned with the development of the Room Weaver software as it currently exists to an alpha release version such that it is suitable for commercialisation in the fields of architectural acoustics and audio post-production. This involves identifying and implementing an appropriate development roadmap, the provision of a robust and stable toolset for Room Weaver developers and users, together with a case study to compare results against those obtained from real-world acoustic measurements and current industry standard acoustic modelling applications. In parallel with this work, a commercialisation strategy will be agreed to secure the future development of this innovative software application.
