This project aims to set up prototypical systems that we hope will reveal striking new aspects of complexity and pattern formation within lipid-bounded systems called vesicles. We hope to better understand the processes by which unusual periodic variations are seen in chemical systems that might lead to insight into the origins of chirality, create new patterned redox environments and new antibacterials. Ultimately, we aim that such systems might represent the first chemical cells or CHELLS.
