Summary on Grant Application Form
The two day workshop that we would like to arrange will be for a small number of researchers and other key stakeholders concerned with helping older and disabled people to remain independent in the community. The people that we would like to invite include researchers working within the EQUAL4 programme. These researchers have all been given funding from the government to explore how technology and design can help people to either regain or retain their independence. We would also like to invite a small number of people who represent older people and people with disabilities to provide their views. The reason that we would like to get everyone together is so that the work that has been undertaken by different groups funded under the EQUAL4 programme can be shared. This sharing will include how the researchers are working to include older people and people with disabilities in their work as well as the new research questions that individuals and groups are identifying as being important. The workshop should help us to be able to work together more effectively in the future.
