Summary on Grant Application Form
Following the unsuccessful application for an Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre (IMRC) in Process Analytics and Control Technologies. the Centre for Process Analytics and Control Technology (CPACT) has no funding, as of 31st December 2004, to retain key research, or administrative personnel. This is a serious issue as it will necessitate breaking up an infrastructure and skills base that has been developed and shaped by the longer term research challenges of industry as well as academia. Bridging support of 62,902 has been requested to cover the costs of the salaries of 3 key research associates for a period of six months. During this time we will be applying for a Platform Grant, submitting responsive mode applications and holding discussions with EPSRC as to how we can move forward and retain CPACT as an exemplar for interdisciplinary process engineering research and development in the UK, as well as maintaining its presence as a highly respected internationally acknowledged UK centre.
