Summary on Grant Application Form |
A four-year research programme is proposed aiming to develop high-fidelity, efficient simulation tools for predicting cavity flow aerodynamics and release of stores from weapon bays. This is an inter-disciplinary project since it requires utilisation of the latest CFD algorithms, acoustic and structural analysis methods in order to predict the complex flow field developed during the store-release phase of aircraft operation. Such task requires full utilisation of High Performance Computing in order to obtain, process, analyse and archive the data necessary for the design and performance analysis of weapon bays.
