|
This grant would give the applicants the funding required to establish a biennial summer school in the area of Mathematics for Robust and Nonlinear Control Systems. The course would be based at Leicester but supported by other major UK research groups as well as major companies.It is recognised that there is a need for control researchers to have a strong working knowledge of mathematics, and in order to facilitate the use of control principles in other fields there is also a need for this mathematical background to be conveyed to researchers (potential collegaues) in other disciplines.The proposed summer school would address both of these needs.
